This is for you Danielley!!!
So, as you can see, my little Anya is growing up!!! From the second this little girl was born, she has had a binky in her mouth. Literally, this girl was obsessed - that is, until as of late. That's right, I finally bit the bullet and just took it away. I was so hesitatant to do it because she loved this thing! It was her way of self-comforting. Who am I to take that away from her? I tried to take it a way months ago and just let her have it when she was in her crib, but I always just gave into the constant whining. I also found it so handy just to stick it in her mouth to keep her quiet during church. I just couldn't do it! In my head, I told myself when she turned 2 I would do it. Well, her birthday came and went, and still, I just couldn't do it. She speaks very well for her age and has a very large vocabulary. That is when it would really bother me; when she would talk with it in. Even though I could understand her, I just couldn't take it anymore. So, Sunday night, I told her we were going to give her binkies to Dr. Ching (her pediatrician) so she could give them to the babies. At first, she was totally on board. She gathered all the ones she could find and put them in the baggie. I then told her it was time to send them to Dr. Ching. She just looked at me and said, "I want to hold them, k mom?" So, I let her hold them in her baggie for the remainder of the night and even sleep with one. The next morning, I took it off her bed and slipped it in the bag with the others. I then threw them to the top of her closet out of sight. She came and asked for it a little while later. I said,"Remember, we gave them to Dr. Ching to give to the babies?" She said, "Mom, where are they?" I just reminded her again, and that was the end of it. She never asked for it again. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! IT WAS THAT EASY?!?! So, farewell, to our treasured little friend/lifesaver!!!! You have brought so much comfort and quiet to our home. Thank you!! Another transition for our Miss Anya has been getting rid of the diaper. Let me just be upfront and honest. It was totally a breeze for us. When Hugh was about one week, it took about a week of being really on top of her, and that was it. Now, don't get me wrong, she has an occasional accident, especially when she is busy playing with Carter and Jilly or when she gets jealous of Hugh and just needs some Anya time. Her little trick works because I do put him down and clean her up. I have found that getting upset doesn't help, and really, she must be needing some attention because she doesn't do it that often. She loves her "Gorda" panties - so much so, that she pulled down her pants at the ball game a few weeks ago to show our friends that she had Gorda panties on. We have also moved her into the room with the bunkbed. She was so good in her crib and never once tried to climb out. I was hesitant to move her because it was so easy for me to just put her in her crib and know that I could just let her cry it out if I had to. But, we switched her anyway, and she has done so well. I can't believe how fast she has grown up. She is such a fun little person to be around and is so full of personality! We love her, and she constantly has us laughing. Hugh is growing up, too. He is trying so hard to roll, and he almost has. Anya likes to help him, which I am sure he really appreciates. He has started talking and will just "coo" at you when you talk to him. I love this stage! As for everything else, things are great in the Willie home!
(Side note, just for the record, I like explanation marks! I like the way !!! looks after a sentence. That is why I always use them.)

What's New?!!!

Goodbye, Corolla.........

........Hello, Journey!!!

Anya playing in her fort!!!

My little peas-in-a-pod!!!

This is the Uncle Mark-look-alike picture. I swear my mom has a picture exactly like this of Mark!!!

Wow! I cannot believe that February has come and gone! I am so happy that March is here, because that means Spring is on its way, right?! Anya can't wait for the snow to melt and the puddles to dry, so that she can go play at the park. I would take her, but I may have to put her in a swimsuit to get through all of the puddles. Because of that, I will dismiss the park idea for now. Not much has been going on with us lately. We did go down to Provo last weekend to celebrate Jess and Matt's birthday. We got a babysitter and went kid-free to a nice dinner at Tucanos! It was fun to go with just the four of us again. Believe it or not, sometimes I miss the pre-kid days!!! We also went to breakfast with my brother Jay. Anya was way excited to see him. We did do something unexpected on our trip, though. We went with Matt and Stef and bought a new car! We both went home driving a new Dodge Journey. I think Stef and I were more excited than the boys. It is crazy how fast you grow out of a car once you have two kids. I have been begging Jess for months now to get something bigger, and I guess this past weekend was my lucky day!!! I love it. It has third row seating that even Jess can sit in and not feel too cramped. So, hopefully we will be able to hold on to this a little longer than our Corolla - even with a few more kids.
