He started throwing up about a week after he got off oxygen. I took him in to the Dr. thinking he had the flu and sure enough he was sick...with PNEUMONIA again!!!! Back on oxygen for a few days and I took him back for a checkup. They said he was better and I could take him off of the oxygen. The other kids were sick too, so we decided to ship them off to Grandma's so they wouldn't pass it on to Luke. We went and got their prescriptions at Wal-Mart and as we were leaving I noticed the Luke didn't look right. He was gray! I shook his carseat and nothing! I picked up his arm he was cold and completely limp. I freaked out and asked my mom if he was dead. Then I really flung the carseat back and he finally woke up. I think he may have been passed out. At this point I really felt like I needed to take him back to the Dr. but I didn't know if I was over reacting from lack of sleep and having a little postpartum symptoms. Jess and my mom said it would be okay just to take him back and get his levels checked after I had repeatedly asked them if they thought I was nuts. Because once he woke up he looked better. Jess answered by saying, "Yeah, but just a little nuts." Thanks Jess! Anyway, I really just knew something was wrong paranoid, or not. We took him back and sure enough, his levels were at 77! Normal is 100! The immediately admitted him. I was so worried. The nurses were worried to see him back as well. We wanted answers! They ordered test to be done at Primary's the next day. Needless to say, it was a long stressful night for both Jesse and I not knowing what was wrong and not being able to do anything to help. We went to SLC the next morning and the tests gave us no answers. We brought him home on oxygen for the third time with no explanation. To make a long story shorter, I started doing research thinking maybe it was something in our home causing this. Well, we looked into it and found our humidity was double what it should be and we have no venting system. How are ones lungs supposed to dry out in that climate? They can't! I took him to mom's for the next week and he improved! Improved A LOT! I was slowly able to wean him off of the oxygen. I continually listened to his lung to know when they sounded dry. When they sounded good we came home. We have been home for about a week and a half now and he is doing great. Gaining weight, sleeping good, eating great, and his lungs are clear!!! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!! So, things seem to be getting back to normal at this house for the first time in 2 months. Halloween was fun and the weather was great! Hugh was so excited to go trick-or-treating. He was out of control all night. Everyone is healthy, minus Hugh's little 24 hour bug that he just got over. So, here is to hoping for a quite, calm, and healthy holiday season! HaHa!
